This project involved two of the four towers and a plaza building that comprise the World Financial Center, one of the most visible and significant building complexes in Manhattan’s financial district.
We received the call for this project – without advance notice – the day after Thanksgiving. By afternoon on the day after Thanksgiving we had assembled an installation crew and were on site.
The main challenge was time. The project had to be completed before Christmas. Only a highly skilled and organized film installation crew could perform under these conditions. We were up to the task.
The buildings were filled with tenants and extremely busy during the day, so our installers started their work in the evening and worked every day until 1 a.m. [Other film installation crews with other companies had to work all night to meet their daily quotas.] Since we worked so fast and efficiently, we were assigned more of the work originally assigned to the other installation companies as the project moved along.
In 20 days, 10 days before the deadline, we installed 95,000 sq. ft. of window film. We were so successful that after Christmas we were brought back to install another 20,000 sq. ft. of film.
“Glenn’s team was incredible on this project,” said Commercial Window Shield’s owner, Wayne Staley. “The deadline was so severe but Glenn was unfazed by the pressure. He and his team worked fast and efficiently. It took a lot of pressure off me knowing I had them on the job.”
