This enormous project involved four buildings in Manhattan and one in suburban New Jersey for one of the nation’s largest bank complexes.
Among the challenges:
- Three buildings required window film removal prior to installation
- Four buildings required the film to be installed using a mechanical attachment system with some custom caps
- All of the buildings were labor intensive projects requiring specialized equipment
- The project had to be planned with a local labor union, which required coordinating with five cooperative crews with varying responsibilities.
We had to develop our own heavy scaffolding system to access hard to reach windows where the building’s triangular shape made it difficult. Lerma’s expertise and certifications in specialized equipment paid big dividends as we were able to devise an effective solution to the challenge.
Each of the five buildings presented its own challenge and required precise planning. Scheduling was a challenge as well as most of the work had to be completed at night as four of the buildings were crowded during the day with workers.
Originally, the project was scheduled to take 1 ½ years. We completed all the work in six months.
